Wine Critic Review: "Amboscato is a sweet, low alcohol and semi-sparkling, Moscato-based wine. The nose is fresh, with bright and fruity notes of apple, mango, banana, and pineapple. The palate has a soft bubble structure and a slight acidity to temper the sweetness. Enjoy as an aperitif or with desserts made with tropical fruits." References: Based on page 138 of the Wine Folly, Muscat Blanc has notes of orange blossom, meyer lemon, mandarin orange, ripe pear and honeysuckle. I was definitely able to get notes of pear, I think this is one of the stronger flavors in the wine. I would say there was also citrus and floral notes, which could relate to lemon and orange and orange blossom and honeysuckle respectively.
My review: To be honest, I bought this wine because it was on sale and the bottle was cute. So I didn't have super high expectations for this wine. But it really impressed me. It was a very sweet wine. It had floral and citrus aromas. I got notes of pear, citrus and light floral. Overall this wine was a pleasant surprise.
Beautiful bottle for a beautiful sommelier!
